About the Project

After the devastation that Hurricane Harvey brought upon Houston, Har-Con Mechanical set off to bring back 4 buildings in the Houston AIG Plaza back online.

After Hurricane Harvey swept through Houston, Har-Con Mechanical was called upon by CBRE to bring the AIG Plaza back online. The Woodson, Riviana, Wortham, and Life buildings in the AIG Plaza were hit the hardest.  The excessive flooding from Buffalo Bayou caused water to enter into the basements of the buildings which is where the mechanical equipment for these buildings was located. At one point the water reached 4feet above the first floor, effectively destroying the mechanical equipment. Har-Con’s objective was to bring these buildings back online as soon as possible. We went in and accessed the damage done to the buildings and demolished all the non-essential equipment and pipes.

Once the demolition started, the build back crew was right behind. We teamed up with Carrier, Cougar Sales, Delta T, Ferguson Supply, HTS, Roessler, Texas Air Systems, Trane, Willbanks, JCI, HD Grant, Distribaire, FGH Insulation, Grant Sheet Metal and Aggreko to make the recovery as smooth as possible for AIG. With help of Carson and Ferguson Supply we replaced pipes, valves and fittings to include temporary and future connections for equipment.  With Aggreko we brought in Chillers, Boilers, LNG fuel tanks, and Generators to bring the buildings back online with temporary power, heating, and air conditioning. The recovery portion is now complete. The buildings are up and running, some on temporary equipment some not. The next phase is creating central plants for the Woodson and Riviana towers which is currently under construction.
